This series of 6-session workshops sought to immerse upper primary school students from a student care centre at Allkin Singapore Ltd in photography and encourage them to use it as an alternative form of self-expression. The sessions included introducing students to the concept of photography, imparting basic framing & lighting techniques, and letting them experience using a digital camera. The workshops included hands-on with activities, games and photo walks to help students to internalise the knowledge and grow their own interests in photography.
Visuals & Stories would also like to express their deepest gratitude towards Nikon Singapore for their generosity in loaning the latest Z30 and Z50 cameras for the students to try during the workshop. They were excited about the prospect of learning to use a camera at the beginning and were still looking forward to future opportunities to further their photography skills after the workshop. The simplicity of use of the cameras gives the students confidence that they are able to produce great photographs and provides another avenue for them to express themselves creatively and personally.
